Alexander Noble House

alexander noble house door county fish creek

Alexander Noble was born in Edinburgh Scotland in 1829 and immigrated, at the age of eleven, in 1840 to Canada. In 1855 he settled in Fish Creek. He lived there until his death in 1905. He served for many years as town chairman and was not only postmaster and member of the county board but was also a blacksmith by trade.

The Alexander Noble House was built in 1876 on land purchased from Asa Thorp, the founder of the Village of Fish Creek. This Greek Revival style influenced residence is the Village's oldest existing dwelling still in its original location, now right on the corner where State Highway 42 turns the corner onto Main Street in Fish Creek.
